The founding directors of PEACE have seen โ and experienced โ the ill-treatment of seniors by their own family members. Seniors who immigrate to Canada as dependents of other family members often struggle to integrate, facing barriers of culture, language and skills that create a painful gap with their grandchildren and youth.
For the most part these seniors are non-earning members of the family, and are too often considered a burden, a liability, or at best a day-care provider for grandchildren. Their health and living conditions deteriorate โ resulting in unhappy families, increased senior abuse, and added cost to the community.
PEACE has a successful track record of managing these senior affairs. We understand the root causes of senior abuse, and our programs have embedded formulas that reduce it. Some of our directors have managed 50โ100 senior students in a single season.
Our financial statements and tax returns are kept up to date, with proper procedures in place for tax receipts and cash disbursements โ ensuring accountability to every donor and family we serve.
